Armin Langer

Armin Langer has been working as Univ.-Prof. for Music Education at the Department of Music Education in Innsbruck/University Mozarteum Salzburg. Since 2021, his field of work focuses on the support and supervision of potential PHD students in the field of scientific music education. For this purpose, individual supervision is offered as well as colloquia, which give the opportunity to present and critically discuss dissertation projects.

Armin Langer, he completed his teaching degree at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt. Then followed the 1st state examination in 1981 (Prof. Dr. Abel-Struth) and the 2nd state examination in 1987. George Rebscher. From 1987 to 2001 he was a teacher at various schools and from 1999 rector as training manager - music at the study seminar in Frankfurt. In the 1990s he worked as a lecturer for the Institute for Music Education at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and held specialist and didactic seminars. From 2000 to 2021 October he was university professor for music education in Innsbruck at the University Mozarteum Salzburg. He was head of department there from 2004 to 2011. In 2003 he was a founding member of the research initiative "MFÖ" (Music Education Research Austria) and from 2009 to 2014 he was deputy spokesman for the "European Music Education" forum (FEMP).
