Robert Bily wins Alexis Gregory Vendome Piano Prize

The Czech pianist Robert Bily, winner of The Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize 2022 and student of Pavel Gililov, wins the Alexis Gregory Vendome Piano Prize 2024, receiving the prize money of 30,000 dollars, and will also give several concerts in the United States and Europe. Congratulations!
In his final concert, the winner Robert Bily played works by Mozart, Albeniz, De Falla, Debussy and Dutilleux. "I feel very honoured to have won the Vendome Prize," said Robert Bily. "This success is a testament to my dedication and passion for music. I look forward to continuing my musical journey and inspiring others through the power of music." Bily competed against Anthony Ratinov (USA) and Ido Zeev (Israel), who won $5,000 each as finalists. The members of the 2024 jury were Gordon Back (chairman), Giuseppe Albanese, Christopher Elton, Charlotte Lee, Cristian Lupeş and the artistic director of the Vendôme, Matei Varga.
The Vendôme Prize, founded by art historian and collector Alexis Gregory, was awarded for the first time in November 2000 at the UNESCO Palace in Paris. Over the following 23 years, Vendome entered into successful partnerships with the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon (2003-2009) and the Verbier Festival in Switzerland (2014-2019). The last competition (2022) took place in New York at the Morgan Library & Museum.
The aim of the Vendome Prize is to find, recognise, support and accompany future professional artists who are technically perfect, magnetic, original and ambitious, have a broad repertoire and are ready to take on the challenges of a concert career. Over the years, the prize has gained an outstanding reputation for discovering exceptional talent and bringing it to the attention of the music world.
