Wolfgang Gaisböck studied at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz with Josef Eidenberger and at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Hans Gansch. He has been a member of the Camerata Salzburg since 1996. As a soloist he has participated in many early music ensembles such as Concentus Musicus Vienna under Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Academy for Early Music Berlin, Il Giardino Armonico, Concerto Cologne and The Bach Ensemble under Joshua Rifkin. Concerts with these ensembles have taken him to the Berliner Philharmonie, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Italian Teatro Municipale Valli, Finland, Japan and Slovenia and to the Royal Albert Hall. Gaisböck is considered one of the leading baroque trumpeters, especially as a specialist for the 2nd Brandenburg Concerto and the cantata work by J. S. Bach. Since 2005 he has been teaching historical trumpet at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz and modern trumpet at the Upper Austrian Music School. Since 2013 he has been a lecturer in natural trumpet at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. Wolfgang Gaisböck is co-founder of the "Schwanthal Trumpet Consort".
