Cornelius Borgolte, born in Bochum, Germany, began his studies at Essen’s Folkwang University of the Arts at the age of 17 years and went on to play the clarinet with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Since 2004 Cornelius Borgolte has, as musician and composer, devoted himself primarily to the theatre and has been commissioned by almost all the major playhouses in the German-speaking region. Alongside a regular cooperation with Rafael Sanchez and Robert Gerloff, he has also worked with numerous other directors including Karin Henkel, Tina Lanik, Daniela Löffner, Amélie Niermeyer, Jana Vetten, Stephan Rottkamp and Anselm Weber.
Since 2014 he has been teaching at the Thomas Bernardt Institute.
