Michaela Weihs, Dr.phil.

Michaela Weihs was born in Salzburg in 1955 and studied German and literature, art history and Slavic studies at the University of Salzburg as well as art and didactic theory of teaching handicrafts at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. In 1980 she did an apprenticeship as a goldsmith and in 1993 she studied jewelry and metal design at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences. She was teaching art history at the Institute of Art History at the University of Salzburg, as well as jewelry design, art history, new media and PR management at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. Since 2007 she has been teaching at the University of Salzburg and since 2002 has been teaching didactic theory of teaching handicrafts at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. Her artistic focus is on metal sculpture and decorative objects.
