Regina Sgier graduated at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She studied with Charlotte Kaminsky, Roman Ortnerand Hilde Langer-Rühl.
She won the 2nd prize in the "Ferdinand Grossmann Singing Competition" of the Wiener Musikverein. Engagements as a soloist led her to the Salzburg Festival, Salzburg Mozart Woche, Wiener Festwochen and Zürcher Festwochen. She is an ensemble member at various opera houses. She worked with conductors such as Gerd Albrecht, Marc Andreae, Michael Hofstetter, Hiroshi Wakasugi and her opera repertoire includes roles such as Mimi (La Boheme), Gilda (Rigoletto), Susanna (Figaro's wedding), Sophie (Rosenkavalier), but also includes operetta parts such as Rosalinde (bat) or Countess Mariza. She performed recitals with Erik Werba, Norman Shetler, Jörg Demus. In addition to her vocal pedagogy, Regina Sgier has been involved in the development and training of children's voices for many years.
As assistant director of the “Salzburger Festspiele und Theater Kinderchor” she is responsible for the preparation classes and trains children´s choirs and soloists for the Salzburger Festspiele,Salzburger Landestheater, Osterfestspiele. She has been teaching singing at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg since the 1989/90 winter semester.
