After studying with Richard Krotschak at the Vienna University of Music and joining a Pablo Casals master class, he toured with the Vienna soloists and the Austrian String Quartet through Europe, the USA, Japan, South America and the Orient. In 1969 he taught a cello class at the Mozarteum University  Salzburg and in 1972 he became a member of the Capella Coloniensis of West German Radio. In 1980 he became a professor and from 1983 to 1997 he was head of the string school at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. He was a guest conductor of the Austrian Youth Philharmonic, the Academie of London Mozarteum and the Moravian Philharmonic. Tachezi has demonstrated his special ability to motivate young people to play in orchestras and ensembles. This applies primarily to the Pro Musica Salzburg, an orchestra that he founded, with whom he has performed in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Germany and Indonesia. From 1995 to 1998 he was the director of the Gmunden festival.
