Barbara Reisinger, born in Schwäbisch Gmünd in 1955, grew up in Salzburg and studied ceramics at the University for Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz. This was followed by a study visit to the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam from 1978 to 1980 and then she worked as an assistant at the University of Design in Linz. In the 1980s, she set up her own studio in Salzburg. Since 1984 she has been a lecturer at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, Department for Fine Arts, Art and Craft Education, and since 2011 she has been a Senior Lecturer, also teaching at the University of Design in Linz and at the Art & Design Technology Institute in Suzhou, China. Her works have been shown in numerous national and international exhibitions, including MAK/Vienna with purchases of museums and collections. Her art in public space can be found in Obertrum and Salzburg, the altar room designs in Upper Austria and Vienna-Liesing. From 2013 to 2019 she was a member of the advisory board for art in architecture in the state of Salzburg.
