Wind music of the highest standard – this is synonymous with the Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum Salzburg.  Hansjörg Angerer, professor at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg has been the orchestra’s principal conductor since 2002.  He develops the typical characteristics of his wind orchestra by planning an unusual repertoire and evolving specific sound aesthetics.  In various constellations the Bläserphilharmonie Mozartuem Salzburg plays music by contemporary composers besides works from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods, as well as traditional Austrian music.
The Bläserphilharmonie is made up of selected instrumentalists and graduates from the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. Many of them have won prizes in national and international competitions, and already play in renowned orchestras.
“Fresh melodies, unashamedly romantic and truly rousing”, was how the press recently reviewed a concert by the Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum Salzburg, which has also made several CD recordings that have received great international acclaim.
