The aim of the department of encouraging extreme talent at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg comprises the individual, intensive and sustainable encouragement of highly talented musical children and young persons, and training them to become artistically highly differentiated musical personalities.
Encouragement is given in the form of concerts within and outside the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, preparation and guidance for taking part in international competitions, cooperation with international festivals, organising possibilities of giving concerts internationally, creating contacts with agencies and comparable institutions, as well as documenting all these activities.
Besides the artistic encouragement of highly talented musical children and young persons, special emphasis is also given to providing relevant advice and engaging in individually oriented accompanying research. The academic focus of work and publications lies in music-specific teaching and learning as regards the development of musical competence, the development of the personality, as well as artistic didactic theory and the specific encouragement of children and young persons who are musically particularly talented.
