The aim of the Sándor Végh Institute of Chamber Music is to coordinate all concerns in the sphere of chamber music at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg. This includes all educational duties, from teaching in the compulsory subject to the introduction of a Master Degree course in chamber music, the founding of a chamber orchestra and extending exchange programmes with other music institutions. Furthermore the Sándor Végh Institute organises regular master-classes, a competition for chamber music, internal and external concerts as well as its own chamber music festival.
