Univ.-Prof. for Textile Design / Design: Technology.TextileDepartment Fine Arts & Design
Textile designer Frauke von Jaruntowski has been designing for renowned companies for many years. Numerous of her works have won awards. With her own events, exhibitions and discourse formats, she is passionately dedicated to the topics of sustainability and appreciation in fashion and design. As a professor of textile design, it is a great pleasure for her to delve into these topics in a design-artistic way together with students.
Frauke von Jaruntowski studied teaching at the University of Hamburg and textile design at the Hamburg School of Design. Since 1996 she has been running her own design office as a freelance designer and looks after well-known customers at home and abroad. Her clients include Creation Baumann, Kinnasand, Nya Nordiska, Zimmer & Rohde, Rosenthal and Agrob Buchthal. From 2003 to 2007 she accompanied the research project "Fashion (Er)suchen" at the HAW Hamburg in the "Product Design Textile" course and headed the teaching degree course "Technology/Textile and Clothing".
As a founding member of the Kultwerk West venue and as one of the people responsible for the CUT UP discourse series, she designed a large number of events, exhibitions and workshops in the context of fashion and textiles. In cooperation with the artist Vera Doerk, installations were created that were presented, among other things, as part of the Lübeck Museum Night ( 2014) and in the Deichtorhallen during the Long Night of Museums in Hamburg (2015). Since 2017, Frauke von Jaruntowski has been Univ.-Prof. for textile design in the design course. Technology.Textile at the Mozarteum University.
