The teacher training subject "Craftwork" has to be combined with a second teacher training subject. It lasts 9 semesters and comprises 140 semester hours as well as the practical training in school.
The course is divided into 2 study sections.
The first study section comprises 4 semesters with 54 semester hours of compulsory subjects; the second study section comprises 5 semesters with 73 semester hours of compulsory subjects. 14 semester hours are allotted to the free optional subjects.
The first study section is completed with the 1st Diploma Examination, which is held in the form of a joint exam. The 1st Diploma Examination is considered as passed when students prove that they have successfully participated in all compulsory teaching units of the first study section.
The second study section is completed with the 2nd Diploma Examination, which is a joint exam consisting of the compulsory subjects from the 2nd study section. In addition, in the 2nd study section a scientific diploma project has to be written in one of the study subjects.
In order to be eligible for the course it is necessary to have passed the maturity exam (or the course entitlement exam) and to have successfully passed the enrolment examination, which consists of the presentation of examples brought by the student before the examination senate, as well as an artistic test.
