Karl-Heinz Kämmerling graduated with distinction in Leipzig; following three further years there as an aspirant, he became assistant to Hug Steurer; taught at the City Music Academy in Braunschweig (Brunswick); Professor at Hanover Academy of Music, where he was also institute director, head of solo teaching and, for six years, vice-president.

Professor for piano at the Mozarteum University Salzburg since 1989; full-professor since 1990.

Winner of the Federal State of Saxony Prize for the Arts
Founder and, for many years, president of the EPTA, Germany
